The red ring of death (RROD) has pursued a Xbox 360 since its first release. Another problem that can happen is if the screws are tightened too much that causes the Board to gnaw causing permanent damage.

However, the success rate of modernization of the x clamp is not very high and not always the solution to the RROD issue. Sometimes, replacing the existing thermal paste with a different product can help solve this problem, unless it is related to the RROD GPU solder joints are defective or loose.
